ANTIQUE OYSTER PLATE CURRATOR
ABOUT US
Cindy and John Tuttle of Chesapeake, Virginia began collecting oyster plates as a hobby in 2003. The first plates added to their collection were a pair of white and gold limoges oyster plates. The Tuttles have expanded their collection over the years and have added a variety of colors and designs. Currently, Cindy and John's collection includes over 500 oyster plates from the simple to flamboyant featuring porcelain, Majolica, stoneware and glass. Their collection has an abundance of sterling silver pieces featuring sea life and nautical motifs, which brought about the name Sterling Oyster.
In the spring of 2017 the Tuttle's home was featured on the Virginia Garden Tour showcasing their vast collection. The Tuttles are members of the Majolica International Society.
